Wearable market will increase 173 percent this year, predicts IDC and Fitbit ransacked a whopping 34 percent market share of this crowded wearable space by selling 21 million wearables last year. The next destination is India.
Fitbit will launch full portfolio of fitness and sleep tracking wearables including Fitbit Surge, Fitbit Charge HR, Fitbit Charge, Fitbit Flex, Fitbit One and Fitbit Zip via Amazon.in starting 3rd July. The Smart scale Aria is coming too for 9,990 INR.
Fitbit recently became first wearable fitness tech firm to go public. At the closing of first day, the companty was valued at $6.1 Billion, which is thoroughly impressive.
India is a different and very price sensitive market where FitBit will face competition from Xiaomi which has and will pump in wearables and fitness gadgets at a fraction of FitBit price. However, Fitbit is a brand associated with some of the best and most accurate trackers, which will play to its advantage.
