OnePlus 2 Extended Warranty Plans India Covers Liquid Damage

OnePlus isn’t the only Chinese smartphone manufacturer that has become quite popular with the Indian market but their flagship OnePlus 2 has been extremely well-received in India with loads of people vying for invites to get their hands on the impressively spec’d yet reasonably priced device, a story very similar to its initial offering, the OnePlus One.

OnePlus addressed initial apprehensions about a customer-service network by tying up with Indian partners B2X Service Solutions and Regenersis (India) Private Limited to set up 23 centres across India and in continuation with their customer-oriented approach, they announced two new Service Plans for OnePlus 2 customers – B2X Service and B2X Protect.

B2X Service

With every purchase of the OnePlus 2, customers are entitled to a manufacturer’s warranty for the device for upto a year from the date of purchase. The B2X Service plan lets you extend the manufacturer warranty for another year by paying INR 999 only (including tax).

What you should note though is that the service plan has to be purchased within 30 days of purchasing your OnePlus 2 device and you have to register at B2X Care within 7 days of purchase by providing relevant purchase details. B2X may deny any coverage or support if the registration is not done within the stipulated time period. As you can see, this offer is only for OnePlus 2 devices and does not apply to the OnePlus One. And if you’re wondering what the older OnePlus 2 customers should do, we’re told that another service plan will be announced soon.

B2X Protect

The B2X Protect service is what most OnePlus 2 users would want to consider; it covers accidental, physical & liquid damage to your OnePlus 2 device during the first year of the product purchase and will set you back by INR 1,299 (including tax).

As you can imagine, this would seem a small price to pay in the eventuality that you spill something on your phone which results in the internal circuitry frying up or if by some twist of fate, you (or your phone rather) was damaged by fire or lightning or just sustained accidental damage.

To avail of this plan though, you are required to purchase the Protect Plan within 10 days of purchase of the OnePlus 2 device and have to register at B2X Care within 7 days of purchase by providing relevant purchase details (Amazon order number). B2X may deny any coverage or support if the registration is not done within the stipulated time period. For more information on this service plan, click here
