Samsung Galaxy C9 Pro Coming To India On January 19

Update 17/01/2016 @ 6:50 PM: C9 Pro launched in India for a price of Rs. 36,900.

After Galaxy Note 7’s debacle and tough competition from Chinese OEMs, Samsung has been finding it a bit difficult to keep up in the Indian market. It has been launching different versions of Galaxy S7 Edge to keep the clock ticking till S8’s arrival. Finally, it may break the blackout with the launch of Galaxy C9 Pro in India on January 19. This phone is already available in China, Bangladesh, Thailand, and Malaysia.

It is worth noting that C9 Pro is the first phone from Samsung to feature 6GB RAM. It will also be the first phone from ‘C’ series and first phone with Snapdragon 653 under the hood to be launched in India. This phone doesn’t disappoint in the camera department either with 16MP front and rear cameras with wide f/1.9 aperture.

Samsung Galaxy C9 Pro Specifications

The Samsung Galaxy C9 Pro runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. The device features a 6 inch full HD Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The device comes with a pixel density of ~367 PPI.


The Samsung Galaxy C9 Pro runs on an Octa Core 1.95 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 653 processor coupled with Adreno 510 GPU. The device houses a humungous 6GB RAM.

On the storage part, the Samsung Galaxy C9 Pro comes with 64 GB of internal storage which can be further expanded up to 256 GB via microSD card.

Pricing and Availability

The phone is priced at CNY 3,199 ( roughly translates to Rs. 31,999) in China. So it may be priced within Rs. 33000. At this price, it has to face the likes of OnePlus 3T and ZTE Nubia Z11, which sport a superior hardware. Nevertheless, you can bet on Samsung’s after sales service and prefer the Galaxy C9 pro.
