Gionee M7 Power to be announed on 28 September

Gionee has confirmed that they will announce the Gionee M7 Power on September 28 at an event in Bangkok. It will be the first ‘M series’ phone from Gionee to get a global launch which indicates Gionee’s attitude towards this device.

Reported to be packing a FullView display, the Gionee M7 Power was earlier teased by the company. The event teaser showcases a smartphone with minimum bezels which indicates at a more premium device with more screen-to-body ratio. Considering how tall the device in the teaser is, we can safely say that Gionee may be unveiling a display with 18:9 aspect ratio.

Well the Gionee M7 Power was seen listed on GFXBench earlier. This listing unveiled some of the major specifications of the device. Considering the official teaser first, we can predict it to be a phone with minimum bezels.


In terms of display, we may get a 6 inch full HD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio. While there is no word about Gorilla Glass protection, we may get some sort of protection for the screen. In terms of camera, the Gionee M7 Power may offer a 16MP primary camera with an 8MP front-facing unit for selfies and video calling.

Coming to the hardware, the GFXBench listing reveals that the Gionee M7 Power will pack a MediaTek Helio P30 processor, which is an octa-core processor. The RAM is pegged at 6GB, we may get a 64GB internal storage as well. There is no word about expandable storage so far.

In terms of performance, the Gionee M7 Power is expected to come with Android 7.1.1 with a skinned UI from Gionee. It is to be noted that the Gionee M7 may pack a high-end photography centric processor (MediaTek Helio P30).

Since the previous Gionee M6 Plus packed a big battery, we can expect the M7 Power to pack a similar big battery. Connectivity options like Bluetooth and WiFi are standard, let us wait to see if we get a 3.5mm earphone jack, USB Type-C, and NFC as well.
