Google Home and Google Home mini smart speakers were launched in India today. These smart speakers come with Google Assistant built in and it can do a lot of things even without being connected to a smartphone.
Amazon has already brought its Alexa-powered Echo and Echo Dot to India which are also smart speakers and can do a bit more than Google for now. At the launch event, Google revealed that Hindi support is coming soon which should make the smart speakers more competitive in the Indian market.
The price for Google Home is Rs 9,999 and the price for the Google Home Mini is Rs 4,999. Both of the smart speakers are available exclusively on Flipkart.
Google Home specifications
The Google Home smart speaker is a tall speaker which comes with a touch surface at the top with a microphone and LED lights. There is a status LED at the back of the speaker with a mute button which when pressed, keeps the Google Home to trigger even if you say “Ok Google.”
The speaker is 3.79 inches in diameter an 5.62 inches tall and it weighs 477 grams. It comes in two colors; white and slate fabric – the top of the speaker stays the same white while the base comes in the two mentioned colours. It comes with Wi-Fi and it can be operated with Android and iOS devices.
Google Home Mini specifications
Google Home Mini is a mini version of the Google Home smart speaker which is also circular with 98mm in diameter and 42mm in height and weighs 173 grams. It comes in three colors; Chalk, Charcoal, and Coral, covered with fabric on the outside.
The Google Home Mini comes with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Chromecast audio built-in. It comes with a single 40mm driver with 360 sound. It comes with two touches reactive surface placed each side of the top part. To sum up, it also comes with a micro USB port and it also supports Android and iOS devices to operate.
