Google Nexus 9, Nexus 6 aka Nexus X and Android L to go Official in Mid-October

As the year is approaching its end, it is that time of the year when we can the highly anticipated Nexus lineup of devices to launch alongside the major Android L update. There is a low of buzz surrounding the HTC made Nexus 9 tablet codenamed Volantis. This tablet is claimed to be unveiled October 15 or 16 along with the Nexus 6 smartphone and the Android L platform. However, it appears like the Android version will not be witnessing a commercial release until November 1.

nexus Of course, we have seen a plethora of leaks and rumors regarding the HTC Nexus tablet reportedly housing a 9 inch display. Lately, the tablet got confirmed by WSJ as well, but there is not much information about the Nexus 6.

In a different report, it is claimed that the Nexus 5 successor will not be called Nexus 6 as rumored earlier. Well, the device will be given the Nexus X final moniker suggests the source.

However, it has to be noted that these release dates are another set of leaks and we cannot take them seriously until the official words from Google come out. But, a mid-October release date contradicts with the earlier rumors. The rumored Motorola Shamu handset was expected to be launched as Nexus X on October 31 and it was suggested that Google is working on two Nexus smartphones rather than only one with a 5.9 inch display.


The current rumors circulating across the web claim that the Nexus X will be featuring a 5.2 inch display with Quad HD 1440p resolution and 2.5 GHz Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor paired with 3 GB of RAM and Adreno 420 graphics unit. The Nexus X is also rumored to arrive with a 13 MP primary camera at its back with a 2.1 MP front-facer.
