Google is reportedly working on a mid-range Pixel smartphone and may launch it in October. As per a recent report, this mid-range Pixel device will be powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 710 chipset.
According to a tweet from Roland Quandt, Google is working on a smartphone running the latest mid-range processor, Qualcomm Snapdragon 710. This SoC made its debut in Xiaomi’s Mi 8 SE which was released recently in China. Apart from this, no other detail is available about the device.
Mid-range Pixel phone
Google is said to be working on this project for quite a while but nothing has been revealed about the smartphone except for the SoC. According to a previous report, Google is working on a mid-range pixels smartphone which is aimed at the Indian smartphone market. This could be the device which we heard about back then.
Off to Taiwan for @computex_taipei today, but here's a tidbit for ya: Google is working on a "mobile" device based on the Snapdragon 710 currently scheduled for launch in the 1st half of 2019. Sounds like this might be the (or one of them) upcoming mid-range Pixel phone.

However, tipster Roland Quandt has tweeted that the phone could go official sometime in Q1 2019. There is no clue about the smartphone’s name or other details about design and specifications. We will get more information about this smartphone as we will get closer to the launch which might be when Google will release its Pixel 3 flagships.
Google might release this smartphone with the Pixel 3 series with some other model name. According to some recent leaks about the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL, the Pixel XL will be getting a notch display and Pixel 3 will be sporting an 18:9 display. These speculations came from a leaked image of the display cover glass which got posted online recently.
Apart from the mid-range Pixel smartphone, Google is reportedly communicating with smartphone manufacturer Foxconn for production of this year’s flagship smartphones Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL which will get unveiled in September-October 2018. Lastly, since Google always makes flagships with premium pricing, the mid-range Pixel smartphone could be a great step for expanding its market in India.
