Honor 8 Pro Unveiled In India – 6GB RAM, Dual Camera, 4000mAh Battery

Huawei today showcased its latest high-end smartphone in India, the Honor 8 Pro. Expanding the portfolio of its Honor brand of smartphones in India, the company has revealed that the phone will be in the affordable price segment. The Honor 8 Pro features high-end specs like 6GB RAM, 5.7 inch Quad HD display and a big 4000 mAh battery.

Honor 8 Pro Specifications

The Huawei Honor 8 Pro comes with a big 5.7 inch LTPS IPS LCD display, bringing it into the phablet category. The display features Quad HD resolution, with a pixel density of ~515 PPI. It is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The Honor 8 Pro runs on Android 7.0 Nougat with EMUI 5.1 on top.

Powering the smartphone is an octa-core chipset made by Huawei. The phone comes with an octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 960 SoC, in a big.LITTLE setup – 4 Cortex A73 cores clocked at 2.4GHz and 4 Cortex A53 cores clocked at 1.8GHz. The graphics are handled by Mali-G71 MP8 GPU.

In terms of memory and storage, the Honor 8 Pro comes with 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage, expandable by another 256GB using a microSD card.


Coming to the imaging department, you get a dual camera setup on the back, with two 12MP sensors with an f/2.2 aperture, Phase Detection and Laser Autofocus, dual LED flash and 4K video recording support. Additionally, the Honor 8 Pro can also record slow-motion videos, with support for 1080p resolution videos at 60FPS. On the front, the phone comes with an 8 MP camera with an f/2.0 aperture and 1080p recording support.

Connectivity options are plenty as well. You get dual SIM, 4G VoLTE support, Wi-Fi b/g/n/ac, dual band, Wi-Fi Direct, DLNA, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, NFC and Infrared support. The phone comes with a USB C port, but it is still based on USB 2.0.

Powering the phone is a big 4000 mAh battery. It also comes with a fingerprint sensor on the back. The phone comes in two colour options in India – Navy Blue and Midnight Black.
