Honor Play Launched in India: Price, Specifications

Huawei’s smartphone brand Honor launched a new phone Honor Play in India on Monday at an event in Delhi. The Honor Play is a gaming phone and it was launched in China back in June. The Honor Play comes in two variants – 4GB RAM and 6GB RAM in India with a starting price of Rs. 19,999.

Honor is touting its GPU Turbo technology that is said to be achieved through hardware and software integration and results in smoother and faster mobile gaming. As per the company, the Honor Play is the first phone in the world that is capable of 4D gaming. Other highlights of the smartphone are 19.5:9 notch display, and its dual rear camera setup.

Honor Play Price in India, availability

The Honor Play price in India starts at Rs 19,999 for the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage version. While the top-end 6GB RAM and 64GB storage version costs Rs. 23,999. The smartphone comes in two colors- Navy Blue and Black.

It will go on sale from Amazon India from today itself 4 PM onwards. The Honor Play launch offers include a bundled Vodafone offer that will give 10GB additional data per month for a year along with Amazon Prime subscription. There is also some more offers for Axis bank customers.


Honor Play Specifications

The Honor Play sports a 6.3-inch FHD+ (1080×2340 pixels) notch display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by Huawei HiSilicon Kirin 970 SoC coupled with 4GB or 6GB of RAM and 64GB of inbuilt storage which is expandable up to 256GB in a hybrid slot. It runs EMUI 8.2 based on Android 8.1 Oreo.

In the camera department, it sports a dual rear camera setup with a 16MP primary sensor with f/2.2 aperture and a 2MP secondary sensor with f/2.4 aperture. It also has PDAF, EIS, AIS and a single-LED flash. Up front, there is a 16MP camera with f/2.0 aperture.

Connectivity options on the phone include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v4.2, USB Type-C, GPS/ A-GPS, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Sensors include an accelerometer, ambient light, digital compass, gyroscope, and proximity. It also has a back mounted fingerprint sensor. The Honor Play is powered by a 3750mAh battery.
