Honor View 10 update brings face unlock, camera enhancements and more

The Honor View 10 has received a new update with lots of new feature including Face Unlocking. This OTA update started rolling out on January 17 and all users will receive this update on their smartphone by January 24. Honor View 10 is already running on Android 8.0 Oreo and this new update unlocks more features which actually use the AI-section of the Kirin 970 SoC.

This new update adds a new face unlock feature which lets you unlock your smartphone using your face. This feature can detect eyes and won’t unlock the smartphone if your eyes are closed. However, this feature is not as secure as the fingerprint sensor but you can use it to unlock your phone more conveniently.

The Face Unlock feature will also reveal the notifications on the lockscreen once it detects your face and the display of the Honor View 10 won’t turn off till you are looking at the screen even if you are not using it. The phone can also control the orientation of the display by detecting your head orientation, if you are looking at the display lying down, it won’t rotate the display orientation.

The new update also comes with some camera upgrades and the background in the selfies can now be changed. Motion detection is now enabled for both the cameras, which detects a moving object and captures the movement by machine learning. There are more features in the update which you can explore or read in the changelog of the update before installing it on your VIew 10.

The Honor View 10 is a direct competitor with some of the high-end flagship smartphones like the OnePlus 5T. Honor View 10 comes with a HiSilicon Kirin 970 chipset which comes with a dedicated neural processor and is available for Rs. 29,999 exclusively through Amazon India.
