Step 3: Scan the QR Code on the browser using the WhatsApp web app

Step 4: You are good to go. Next time you open web.whatsapp.com, you won’t have to repeat the process

WhatsApp won’t work on your PC if your phone is not connected to internet. This is perhaps because of WhatsApp principle of making user privacy a top priority. They don’t want your data to be placed anywhere else on the cloud. This would also require vast infrastructure upgrade.

“Our web client is simply an extension of your phone: the web browser mirrors conversations and messages from your mobile device – this means all of your messages still live on your phone,” WhatsApp CEO and co-founder Jan Koum clarified in a Facebook post.

You can also opt to receive desktop notifications for WhatsApp messages. Users have been asking for accessing WhatsApp through comfort of a PC for long time , and this should make a lot of people very happy.
