HP’s upcoming large screen smartphones headed Indian shores

HP had a failed stint with smartphones earlier, and according to reports, the manufacturer wants to try another hand at it. Allegedly the countries that will be targeted will be China and India, two of the fastest growing smartphone markets in the world.

Word going around suggests that it will be phablets that HP will manufacturer in its second coming. Phablets are large smartphones, and HP plans to manufacture large phablets; which according to runours will range anywhere between 6 and 7 inches! Well, this is as close as smartphones and tablets get.

With CES 2014 around the corner, it would only be fair to expect the manufacturer to showcase its large screen phones at the event. However, there’s a chance of these devices coming in as early as the end of this month (less than a week), which according to us is a bleak possibility.

Given the patterns that are recorded in countries like India and China among other south-Asian countries, there’s a chance HP will join the LONG list of manufacturers shipping devices with MediaTek chipsets. Given the price range that these HP devices are purported to feature in, i.e., $200-250, there’s a high chance of that happening.
