HTC U11 With Edge Sense To Be Launched In India On June 16

HTC has started sending media invites for the launch of its flagship device, the U11. The HTC U11 was announced on May 16. India is getting the device one month after its official launch. The U11 was priced at $749, which means that the device will cost around Rs. 50,000 in India. The launch event will be held in New Delhi.

The main highlight of this smartphone is the new squeeze input feature which lets you to do multiple tasks via squeeze gestures. It has got a pressure sensitive squeezable metal sides as part of the new Edge Sense feature which lets the phone to sense all gestures.

HTC U11 Specifications

HTC U11 feature a 5.5 inch Quad HD (1440×2560 pixels) Super LCD display with Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Under the hood it runs Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 chip-set paired with either 4GB or 6GB of RAM. It comes with either 64 GB or 128 GB of storage which can be further expanded up to 2 TB via microSD card.

On the rear, the HTC U11 houses a 12 MP camera with 5 axis-OIS, EIS, f/1.7 aperture, 1.4μm pixel, BSI sensor, dual LED flash and always-on HDR Boost feature. On the front, it has got a 16-megapixel front camera with BSI sensor. The rear camera can shoot slow-motion and 4K video recording.

It runs on Android 7.1 Nougat with company’s own Sense UI on top. It is backed by a 3,000mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 and company claims that it can give 14 days of standby time.

Connectivity options include 4G LTE, GPS/ A-GPS, GLONASS, Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi: 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, NFC support and USB 3.1 Type-C port. The device comes with a uni-body design and sports 3D glass both on the front and back of the device.

The phone also features a front mounted fingerprint scanner. The phone also has lots of audio enhancing features like HTC USonic earbuds with active noise cancellation, HTC BoomSound Hi-Fi edition, 3D audio recording with four microphones, and Hi-res audio certified.

Pricing and Availability

HTC has listed the 6 GB RAM and 128 GB internal storage variant on its India website. The device has been tagged as coming soon and will be available in Brilliant Black and Amazing Silver color options. The company has not revealed any information related to pricing of the device, but we expect it to be priced around Rs. 50,000.
