Idea Will Offer Free Incoming Calls On National Roaming From April 1

When every telecom operator is coming up with new exciting offers and plans, Idea doesn’t want to get left behind. Idea Cellular announced that it will be offering free incoming call facility on National Roaming from April 1. Companies like Airtel, Jio, and Vodafone has already introduced this service to their network. Free National incoming facility will be available for both prepaid and postpaid customers across 2G, 3G and 4G networks.

Additionally Idea also introduced a bunch of international roaming packs with unlimited incoming calls and bundled outgoing voice calls, SMS and data for frequent international travelers. According to these offers, you get free bundled usage of up to 400 minutes of outgoing calls, 100 SMS per day, large data volume and unlimited incoming calls on international roaming. These packs start from Rs. 1,199 with 10 days of validity and go up to Rs. 5,999 with 30 days of validity.

Idea’s international roaming packs come with 1GB, 2GB, and 3GB of data benefit. You will be charged Rs. 3 per MB after the data limit. Customers can  choose the packs according to their duration of their international trip. For a short leisure travel, they can go for Rs. 1,199 10 day pack and Rs. 5,999 30-day pack for a longer stay.

Idea also mentioned that it did an extensive study of customers’ travel destinations, usage patterns and bill shock complaints to design a new range of value packs for handpicked destinations across Europe (15 countries), Asia (9 countries), America (USA and Canada), UK (UK and Ireland) and the Middle East (UAE).

Sashi Shankar, Chief Marketing Officer at Idea Cellular, said “Backed by a pan-India mobile GSM & wireless broadband network with coverage spanning 400,000 towns and villages, Idea is now set to enable over 200 million customers to use their mobile phones freely, without having to worry about roaming charges, while they travel anywhere in the country. While incoming calls will be free, customers will also be able to enjoy outgoing calls, SMS and data services at affordable rates, starting April 1. The International Roaming packs are designed keeping in mind the travel trends of Indians going abroad, as well as their wireless data usage requirements, whether travelling for work or leisure.
