The Core i7-5820K processor is an entry level offering in the lineup boasting of 6 cores and 12 threads. The unit comes with 15 MB L3 Cache, 3.3 GHz base clock, 3.6-3.8 GHz boost clock, 140W TDP and support for DDR4-2133 MHz memory. The incorporation of the DDR4 memory controller provides support to quad channel memory and faster clock speeds.

The Haswell-E platform supports a range of frequencies from 2133 MHz to 2667 MHz O.C. + and it is compatible for both the Channel DRX-B Liquid cooler and T-HPHS air cooler with the LGA 2011-3 socket respectively.

The Intel Core i7-5820K is the best processor for the X99 chipset platform. The 28 PCI- Express lanes make the processor capable to cope up with 2-Way and 3-Way SLI setups. Moreover, the Haswell-E platform provides 79 percent more performance than the 4 core processors on the Z97 platform. Also, it delivers a massive multi-threaded performance.

The platform uses technologies such as SSE4, AVX, VT and AESNI. Furthermore, it is the first HEDT platform to support DDR4 memory. The DDR4 memory controller is embedded in the processor for a direct connection. The new DDR4 memory modules consume a mere 1.2V of power than the 1.65V or 1.5V standard with DDR3. Also, it features up to 16 banks of memory with 288-Pin DIMM connectors that are available on X99 chipset motherboards.

Regarding the product, Mr Gulbir Bhatia, Managing Director at Prime ABGB said, “i7-5820K has a massive improvement over its predecessor i5-2500K in multi-threaded workloads. Even the entry level model of Haswell-E will perform about twice as fast as i5-2500K. This product delivers the speed, cores, overclocking and platform capabilities perfectly for PC enthusiasts who seek for maximum performance under economical price range.”
