Intex has today launched another budget smartphone, The Xtreme 2 which succeeds Intex Aqua Xtreme launched late last year. Xtreme 2 has a new design, while other hardware remains similar.
Specs include 5 Inch HD display, 32 bit MT6592M octa core chip clocked at 1.4 GHz, 2 GB RAM, 13 MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5 MP front selfie shooter and a mere 2000 mAh battery.
Second iteration of Aqua Xtreme has gone slimmer with body dimensions measuring 140 x 71.9 x 7.9mm andweighs a moderate 136 grams. Notably, Intex has also reduced internal storage from 32 GB to 16 GB. The processor clock frequency has been reduced too, but that’s not a bad thing after all as it will now be less harsh on the 2000 mAh battery.
Connectivity options include 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. The handset pays no attention to latest trends like 4G LTE, 64 bit computing or Android 5.0 lollipop, something other rivals are offering in the same price bracket. But again, the handset is meant to retail in offline markets and not everyone needs the latest fad.
Commenting on the launch, Sanjay Kumar Kalirona, Mobile Business Head, Intex Technologies, said, “At Intex we continuously endeavor to provide the consumers enhanced value by keeping them in sync with ever-changing technology. Aqua Extreme II is yet another example of this effort and steps into the slot vacated by its hugely popular predecessor ‘Aqua Extreme’. As the name suggests, Aqua Extreme II will enthrall the consumers with its top of the line specs while giving them excellent value for money.”
