Joining the bandwagon of 5 inch display phones with budget chipset, is the New Intex Cloud Z6, the successor of Intex Cloud Z5 launched earlier this year. This phone is targeted at first time Android users and those who wouldn’t mind some extra Display to romp around.
This 5 inch display has slightly improved 480 x 854 pixel resolution (FWVGA) instead of 480 x 800 pixels that we had seen in Cloud Z5. This won’t be a very crisp and sharp display and your texts and images will be little soft. The software has also been enhanced to Android Jelly bean operating system.
The Chipset specifications in this Dual SIM phone remain same. This phone is powered by 1 GHz dual core processor backed by 512 MB RAM. This SPD8825 chipset also has 4 GB of on board memory which can be extended up to 32 GB. Intex has not specified how much of this will be available at the users end.
The primary camera is of 5 MP and does not have LED flash support for low light photography. The front camera is of 1.3 MP. The camera specs are also same as what we have seen in Cloud Z5.
The battery capacity is 2100 mAh which will struggle to carry you through full day. The talk time of 5 hours and standby time of 250 hours is what you will be able to squeeze out of this battery according to Intex. Connectivity features include EDGE, GPRS, WiFi, AGPS and Bluetooth. The lack of 3G connectivity is disappointing.
The phone comes with basic specifications and will be apt only for basic usage. The pricing has not been revealed as of yet, but is expected to be around 7,000 INR. You can also consider phones like Micromax Canvas A76, Xolo A600 and Lava Iris 503.
