Karbonn has launched another budget android phone in India today in its Karbonn Smart series. Earlier Karbonn had launched Karbonn A1 star in the same price bracket. We have seen many budget smartphones across all ranges in the recent few weeks; let’s take a look at this simple android smartphone.

Karbonn Smart A51 features Android 4.0 Operating system and is powered by a 1 GHz processor which will be sufficient for all the practical purposes for which this phone is meant. The RAM capacity is 256 MB and the internal storage is of 512 MB. This is bound to restrict your App downloads but you can get some more flexibility by techniques like rooting. The internal storage can be extended to 32 GB using MicroSD card support.

The Display is similar to Karbonn A1 Star with a 3.5 Inch size and 320 x 480 pixel resolutions. This display will suffice for all general purpose usage.

The primary camera has a 3.2 MP sensor along with LED flash and a VGA front camera is also present in this dual SIM smartphone for those interested in video calling, although its use will be further restricted with lack of 3G.

The battery capacity is quite less at 1100 mAh. Karbonn A1 Star priced at 3500 INR approximately featured a bigger 1450 mAh battery. The low battery capacity might leave you craving for more. Connectivity features include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPRS and Micro-USB.

Karbonn has come up with a basic product meant for first time users and the specifications and price are almost similar to Karbonn A1 star, which also comes with a better battery. Those looking for options can also check Intex Cloud X3 and Videocon A24. Karbonn Smart A51 is available in black and white variants from Saholic for a price of Rs. 3,499
