Lava has announced the launch of a new entry level smartphone called Lava Iris 444 that is listed on sale via e-commerce portal Flipkart for a pricing of Rs 3,199. Like several other smartphones in this pricing, the Iris 444 is a dual SIM smartphone running on Android 4.4 KitKat operating system.

To elaborate on its specifications, the Lava Iris 444 boasts of a 4 inch WVGA display with a resolution of 480×800 pixels and it employs a 1 GHz Cortex A7 processor that is paired with a meager 256 MB of RAM for basic multitasking. There is a paltry 512 MB of RAM that can be further expanded by another 32 GB using a micro SD card.

For imaging, the Lava smartphone is bestowed with a 2 MP rear camera accompanied with LED flash and a VGA front facing selfie snapper camera. The device is packed with connectivity aspects such as 2G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and dual SIM functionality. Things are juiced up by a standard 1,400 mAh battery.

Besides letting the Iris 444 smartphone on sale via Flipkart, Lava is prepping a tablet called Lava NKS 101 that is a variant of the Xtron Mega. This upcoming tablet boasts of a 10.1 inch IPS HD display with 1280×800 pixels. Under its hood, there is a 1.6 GHz quad core processor teamed up with 1 GB of RAM. There are two variants of the device 16 GB and 32 GB of native storage support.

The Lava NKS 101 boasts of a 2 MP main snapper and a 2 MP front facer for imaging. Other goodies of the tablet include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, HDMI and micro USB for connectivity and a 7,200 mAh battery. The device runs on the dated Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS.
