Lava has today extended its Iris X1 porfolio with the launch of Iris X1 Grand and Iris X1 Mini priced at 7326 INR and 4348 INR. The design is similar to original Iris X1, with a 4.5 Inch display, which was launched as a Moto E competitor last year.
The Lava Iris X1 Grand scales the display size up to 5 inches, leaving the display resolution untouched at 854 x 480 pixels. The handset employs the same 1.3 GHz quad core MT6582M processor backed by 1 GB RAM and 8 GB expandable internal storage.
The handset features an 8 MP BSI sensor rear camera capable of 1080 video recording and aided with dual LED flash. A 2 MP front camera is also present for video calling. This device will be powered by a 2200 mAh battery, while other features include USB v2.0, Bluetooth v4.0, 3G and Wi-Fi.
For now, the handset is running Android 4.4.2 KitKat and Lava guarantees Android 5.0 Lollipop upgrade later. Lava Iris X1 Grand will be available on all major retail stores for 7,329 INR starting from February 2015.
The Lava Iris X1 Mini, on the other hand scales down the display size and other hardware as well. This 4 Inch IPS LCD display device (WVGA) is powered by 1.2 GHz quad core processor (Most likely MT6589) with 512 MB RAM and 4 GB internal storage.
The Lava Iris X1 Mini will have a 5 MP rear camera, VGA front camera and a 1750 mAh battery to keep things running. The handset appears slightly dated, but shouldn’t be a deal breaker at a modest price of 4,348 INR. Lava Iris X1 Mini will be available in ink black, while-silver and White-Gold color options starting from 1st week of February 2015.
