Lava QPAD R704 Tablet with Voice Calling Announced for 8,499 INR

Lava has come up with a new tablet in its QPAD lineup with the launch of the QPAD R704. This tablet is pretty similar to the QPAD e704 that was launched earlier this year with the major difference in the processor. The QPAD R704 is priced at Rs 8,499 and features 3G connectivity via SIM card supporting voice calling.

Detailing on technical specifications, the Lava QPAD R704 boasts of a 7 inch 5 point multi touch display that comes with a resolution of 1024×600 pixels and uses a 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC instead of the Broadcom processor in the QPAD e704. This processor is teamed up with 1 GB of RAM that can handle multi-tasking efficiently.

Though the QPAD R704 runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean platform, it can be upgraded to Android 4.4 KitKat and it bundles 8 GB of native storage capacity that can be expanded externally by another 32 GB with the help of a micro SD card. Also, there is a 2 MP primary camera onboard that is accompanied by a VGA front facer for basic video calling.

As mentioned above, the Lava tablet comes with 3G connectivity support via SIM card for voice calling capabilities along with Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth features. There is a 3,500 mAh battery under its hood that is rated to render up to 300 hours of standby time and up to 10 hours of talk time.


Other than these technical aspects, the Lava tablet comes with High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC), Snapdragon Audio for rich 3D surround sound, Qualcomm Interference Cancellation and Equalization (Q-ICE) to reduce noise in the cellular network and other notable features. The Qualcomm Quick Charge technology will help the tablet to get charged 30% faster.
