Lenovo S5 teaser reveals its key features: 18:9 display, face unlock, secure payments and more

Chinese smartphone maker Lenovo is all set to launch its latest smartphone dubbed as Lenovo S5 in China on March 20. The company has teased the device on Chinese social media sites earlier, and now the teaser of the phone has been surfaced revealing its key features.

Lenovo will announce the launch of S5 on March 20 and the smartphone has already featured in several leaks. Now, the official teaser from the company has been shared by Lenovo executive Chang Cheng, in a post on Weibo. The latest teaser of the smartphone reveals several features which Lenovo will adopt in the handset. Earlier, Cheng has also shared an image of the Lenovo S5, showcasing a Red color variant of the smartphone.

Lenovo S5 teaser reveals some key details of the upcoming smartphone. As per the teaser, the S5 will sport a metal unibody design and a full screen 18:9 aspect ratio. Further, the dual camera setup at the back will feature an inbuilt portrait mode for bokeh effect. Moreover, there will be a face beauty mode in the camera and it will also come with a Face Unlock feature, in addition to the fingerprint scanner.

Cheng, in the teaser also showcased an artificial intelligence (AI) powered smart engine on the handset. Apart from this, Lenovo promises a long-lasting battery life in the smartphone along with the latest UI version. Moreover, the company has also teased a secure payment option on the smartphone.

Lenovo S5 specifications

The exact specifications of the phone are not known yet, still, the device is expected to be equipped with a Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor. Further, the device is tipped to come in two variants i.e. 3GB/32GB and 4GB/64GB with up to 128GB expandable memory. The Lenovo S5 is rumored to run Android 8.0 Oreo out-of-the-box and it will pack a 3,000mAh battery.

There are no pricing or availability details around the Lenovo S5 as of now. However, it is expected that it will be a mid-range handset. We can only get more information after the official launch on March 20.
