MediaTek Introduces 480fps Full HD Super-Slow Motion on Smartphones with New Octa Core Chipsets

Taiwan based chipmaker MediaTek has announced a Super-Slow Motion Technology that will let the smartphones to shoot FHD 1080p videos at 480 frames per second and playback at 1/16 speed. This is the world’s first smartphone camera feature to facilitate such an advanced video recording capability.

Those devices that are powered by the MediaTek MT6595 and MediaTek MT6795 chipsets support this Super-Slow Motion Technology video shooting that will render a superior multimedia experience. This high-end technology enables the chipmaker to deliver a premium technology with unlimited possibilities for the consumers.

The Super-Slow Motion Technology takes charge of numerous subsystems that function together with the Sony IMX220, 20.7 MP camera sensor that can capture the videos. The high fps videos that are shot are then passed through the advanced image processing engine of MediaTek to ensure that every processed frame possesses premium quality while displaying the image with exceptional details and clarity.

Also, users of devices incorporating the aforementioned chipsets can edit their videos while taking control of the duration and location of the Super-Slow Motion segment on the video timeline. Once the video is rendered, users can share the clips easily with their family and friends.
