Meizu has recently added a smartphone named Meizu A5 to its new ‘A series’ lineup. The phone is first in the series and is seen listed on Meizu’s official website in China. It will go on sale in China today, at a price tag of CNY 699.
The device from Meizu comes with a 5 inch HD display, 8 MP primary camera, 5 MP secondary camera, MediaTek SoC, 2GB RAM and 16GB internal memory.
Build and Design
Meizu A5 comes with a Metal Unibody design, which makes it sturdy and premium to feel. The camera is placed in the upper center, right above the LED flash. The front of the phone also looks good with a compact 5-inch display.

The Meizu A5 features a 5 inch HD (1280 x 720p) IPS-LCD panel with ~294 PPI Pixel density. There is no information whether the device comes with any kind of protection. The device runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow skinned in FlyMe UI which is Meizu’s optimized user interface for their smartphones.
Meizu A5 comes with a Quad-Core MediaTek MT6737 SoC, paired with a Mali T720 GPU. It packs 2GB RAM and 16GB internal memory. It also supports microSD cards for memory expansion.
Coming to the camera department, the Meizu A5 comes with an 8 MP primary camera with Phase Detection Autofocus, f/2.0 aperture, and a dual-LED flash. On the front, the device sports a 5 MP secondary camera with f/2.2 aperture.
Pricing and availability
The Meizu A5 is currently available in China at a price tag of CNY 699 which is roughly INR 6,670. The device is coming in Black, Gold, and Silver color variants. The device is expected to be priced around Rs. 7,000 to compete against the budget devices from other companies such as Xiaomi, Motorola, etc.
