Meizu Pro 7 With Secondary Display To Launch On 26 July

Chinese smartphone maker Meizu has sent out invites for the launch of Meizu Pro 7 in China. The smartphone features a secondary display at the back, Dual Camera module, 3 RAM variants, and up to 128GB internal storage. The phone is said to be a flagship device from Meizu.

The launch invites uploaded by a Weibo user shows a intricately packed box with a dummy device inside. The dummy device in the box also features a secondary display. Meizu Pro 7 is set to launch on 26 July in China’s Zhuhai Opera House.

There have been many rumours suggesting specifications and designs of the device. Here are the specifications of the Meizu Pro 7 known so far.

Based on all the leaks and rumours, certain specifications of the Meizu Pro 7 have surfaced. The device may sport a 5.2 inch Super AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The phone also has a secondary E-ink display, which will show date, time and weather at the back of the phone. The secondary display may be an always-on display.


Coming to cameras, the Meizu Pro 7 is expected to have a dual camera setup at the back. It may have two 12MP Sony-made Lenses. The phone is also expected to feature a 16MP front-facing camera.

In the hardware department, we may see a MediaTek Helio X30 processor, clocked at 2.5GHz. It may be coupled with 4GB and 6GB RAM The Meizu Pro 7 may come with 128GB On-board storage.

Coming to performance, the Meizu Pro 7 may come with Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Flyme UI which is the default user interface for Meizu devices. The Android version may also receive an update to 7.0 Nougat.

The battery capacity of the device is not out yet. Leaks suggest the presence of a 3.5mm earphone jack and a USB Type-C 3.1 port. The Meizu Pro 7 may come with Dual Nano-Sim slots and NFC connectivity as well.

Pricing and Availability

The Meizu Pro 7 is expected to be priced at CNY 2,799 which translates to approx. Rs. 26,617. The device is set to launch on 26 July so it may be available in China initially. We can expect the smartphone to come to India later in August or in September first week.

With a secondary display, the Meizu Pro 7 seems to be a promising device. We also heard rumours about the Meizu Pro 7 Plus, but nothing is heard of the device launch yet. The complete details and specifications of the device will be covered after the launch.
