Leaked images of the Meizu Pro 7 have recently surfaced, showcasing a secondary E-ink display. The Pro 7, is rumoured to have a small e-ink display at the back. This display will show time, date, weather along with shortcut buttons to dialer and camera. The phone itself is shown in a Matte Black finish with Meizu branding at the bottom right.
Meizu Pro 7 Specifications
The Meizu Pro 7 is said to feature a 5.2 inch Super AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and Dual-Camera setup with f/1.8 Aperture.
The phone will be powered by the MediaTek Helio X30 chipset. It is speculated to have three RAM variants i.e. 4GB, 6GB and 8GB along with 128GB internal storage.
Additionally, there are rumours about a ‘Plus’ version of the Meizu Pro 7 which may come with a Samsung Exynos 8890 chipset along with a bigger screen size.
The secondary display on the Meizu 7 Pro is rumoured to be an ‘always on’ e-ink display, placed right below the rumoured Dual-Camera setup. It will be a small display that will showcase Date, Time, Weather updates with shortcuts for camera and dialer. The shortcut buttons indicate that this will be an interactive display.
Although with this size, the secondary display cannot be used to read books (like on the YotaPhone). This limits its functionality. Meizu Pro 9 may also allow customisation of the secondary display to add more shortcuts or edit the information on it.
The secondary display on the Pro 7 is expected to perform much like the one on LG V20. It may have scroll feature to add more functionality or customisation to it.
The Pro 7 is expected to be a flagship device from Meizu. Rumours suggest that the device will be launched in July this year.
