Another smartphone from Indian juggernaut, Micromax, The Micromax Canvas Mad A94 is doing rounds of the rumor mill. This new phone is supposed to drive you mad because it offers a quad core processor for under Rs. 8000 INR. We spotted this phone on Antutu which confirms the existence of Micromax Canvas Mad A94 and the benchmark socres hint towards the quad core MT6582 chipset.

With the debut of MT6582 chipset in India via Intex Aqua i6, it was easy to predict that we will be seeing a lot more of quad core smartphones for under 10 K mark. The new Micromax Canvas Mad which is also being teased on the Television and Internet will expectedly be powered by MT6582 quad core chipset from MediaTek with 4 cortex A7 cores clocked at 1.3 GHz.

The GPU embodied in the chipset is Mali 400 MP2 clocked at 400 MHz. If you get down from the quad core high horse, other specs are not as impressive and are similar to what most budget dual core Androids are offering. Its too early to comment and specifications will be confirmed only after official release.
