Micromax rolled out another pocket friendly smartphone in India yesterday. The latest smartphone, named as Micromax Canvas Xpress 4G, is priced at INR 6,599 and is already available on Flipkart from today itself. After receiving positive response from the recently released Micromax Canvas 5, the company tries to put a good competition forward in the low cost smartphone segment.

It is the successor of earlier released Micromax Xpress 2 smartphone, and comes with a 5 inch IPS HD display (1280 x 720 p) with pixel density of 294 ppi. The smartphone is powered by 1 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735P processor paired with Mali-T720 GPU, offers 2 GB of RAM, has 16 GB of internal storage as well as a up-to 32 GB micro SD card slot and runs on Android 5.1 (Lollipop) OS, which is almost authentic, familar to most of the Micromax smartphones.
On the camera front, the Micromax Xpress 4G offers 8 MP rear and 2 MP front cameras. Besides, the battery is 2000 mAh and connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, dual SIM and offcourse the 4G LTE.

The homegrown smartphone maker has also collaborated with Airtel, offering bundled ‘Double Data’ offers to the 3G and 4G Airtel customers with this phone. The company also claims that in less than 3 months it has managed to sell more than 300,000 units of the earlier Canvas Xpress 2, making it the one of the most successful smartphones in the under INR 7000 segment.
