Micromax Selfie 2 Launched With Nougat, Fingerprint Sensor For Rs. 9,999

Micromax today launched its latest smartphone, the Selfie 2 in India. The phone was earlier spotted on the company’s website last week, but it has been launched today officially. The Selfie 2 comes with Android 7.0 Nougat and features a Mediatek MT6737 processor.

The Micromax Selfie 2 comes with a 5.5 inch HD on-cell IPS LCD display, with a 2.5D curved glass on top. The phone runs on Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.

Powering the Selfie 2 is a quad-core Mediatek MT6737 processor, clocked at 1.3GHz. The graphics duties are handled by the Mali T720 GPU. The phone comes with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage, expandable by another 32GB using a microSD card.

Being marketed around its selfie capabilities, let’s talk about the front camera first. The Micromax Selfie 2 features an 8MP Front-facing camera with Sony IMX135 lens and a front facing LED flash. It packs a 5 piece lens with f/2.0 aperture with Real Time Bokeh Effect and Wide Angle shot capabilities.


Coming to the rear camera, the Micromax Selfie 2 packs a 13MP unit with OV 8856 sensor and f/2.0 aperture. The rear camera is also a 5 piece lens with an 84-degree view. The rear camera features Auto-Scene Detection, Panorama Mode, and Super Pixel 5200M.

Connectivity options on the Selfie 2 include Dual SIM, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth, FM Radio, GPS and a 3.5mm audio jack. The phone is powered by a 3000 mAh battery.

Pricing and Availability

Micromax Selfie 2 has been priced at Rs. 9,999. The phone comes in black colour and will be available in stores across the country starting from August 1. Additionally, the phone also comes with 100 days replacement guarantee, in case it develops a problem during that time period.
