Microsoft Band 2 Will Have A Curved Display

The Microsoft Band may not have taken the wearable industry by storm but there’s good reason to believe that the second generation Microsoft Band 2 will do better, thanks primarily to its curved display which ups the fashion aspect a few notches.

Spanish website MicrosoftInsider claims to have renders of the official product that will most likely be announced at the upcoming Microsoft event on October 6th.

When the original Microsoft Band was announced, the Samsung Gear Fit already had the upper advantage with a curved screen then. Aside from looking cool on your wrist, the Microsoft Band 2 will have to really push the limits on the capabilities of the device if it is to take on the likes of several other contenders in the wearable category out there.

The original Microsoft Band came with guided workouts, round-the-clock tracking of your heart rate, sleep tracking, GPS tracking and if you’d like to leave the phone in your pocket, it lets you preview your email, view text messages, read call details and other notifications that you’d like to be made aware of.

With Cortana being integrated into the device, talking to your wrist is no longer a James Bond exclusive. If you’re using Windows Phone 8.1 or above, Cortana can reply to text messages, take notes, or set reminders with your voice. You’ll also get traffic notifications and updates on sports, stocks, weather, or whatever else it is that you need to be on top of.

As always, we’d recommend waiting for the official launch of the device and there’s a very good chance that the second generation of the Microsoft Band will make it to the Microsoft launch on the 6th of October.

Until then, do stay tuned and let us know what you think of the device in the comments section!
