Microsoft Reveals Xbox One X 4K HDR Gaming Console At $499

In the recently held Microsoft’s annual E3 2017, the software giant introduced Xbox One X, which is its latest powerful gaming console. The Xbox One X was first started with codename Project Scorpio and now it has been finally completed. The latest gaming console has 4K HDR gaming, Dolby Atmos, and DTS:X which offers 3D spatial sound.

According to Microsoft, what makes the Xbox One X the most powerful gaming console is its 6 Teraflops, 326 GBs of Memory Bandwidth and advanced custom silicon. Further, the company added that Scorpio Engine is the world’s most powerful gaming processor console. The existing Xbox One games, including Xbox, Play Anywhere titles, Backward Compatible Xbox 360 games and accessories will be compatible with the upcoming Xbox One X.

These games will load faster and feel better on the all-new Xbox One X.

The gaming console is powered by an 8-core Custom AMD CPU clocked at 2.3GHz for enhanced AI, real-world detail and smooth interactions within games. Further, it is backed with 12GB GDDR5 graphic memory for the best performance. More details are offered by 6 Teraflop GPU that also offers smoother animations while playing in 4K.


It offers 8GB flash memory and 1TB HDD internal storage along with 326GB/sec memory bandwidth that offers faster and detailed game graphics. Though the console is the smallest till date from Microsoft, it offers 40% improved power. The console uses advanced liquid cooling and the supercharger style centrifugal fan to maintain optimal cooling.

The Xbox One X uses digital power delivery system that custom tunes each console’s voltage to improve the performance along with optimizing the power consumption. It offers 4K UHD Blu-ray Optical Disc Drive, HDMI 2.0b (out), 2160p @60Hz, AMD FreeSync, HDR10 support. The audio delivery is ensured by DTS 5.1, DOLBY Digital 5.1, TrueHD with Atmos, PCM 2.0m 5.1, 7.1.

Connectivity options include Bluetooth Enabled (Activation button on front), WiFi (Dual Band) with Wi-Fi Direct, IR Blaster, 3 x USB 3.0 Ports, IR Out, S/PDIF, Ethernet Port. With the launch of the all-new Xbox, the Microsoft is offering Xbox One X enhanced versions of existing games which include Gears of War 4, Forza Horizon 3, Minecraft, Resident Evil 7, Final Fantasy 15, and Rocket League.

In addition, the new games like Forza Motorsport 7 will be launching in true 4K, said the company. The Xbox One X is priced at US$499 (Rs 32,110 approximately) and will be available in the US market starting November 7. The console will come with 1-month free Xbox Game Pass subscription and a 14-day free Xbox Live Gold membership. There is no information about its India launch but, it is expected to arrive in the Indian market by early 2018.
