Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 MIUI 9.5 Global Stable update rolling out in India

Xiaomi has started rolling out the latest MIUI 9.5 Global stable update on Redmi Note 5 units in India. The latest MIUI Global stable build comes with MIUI version 9.5.4.0.NCFMIFA and brings several new features, optimizations, and bug fixes to Redmi Note 5.

Last month Xiaomi announced the nightly build of MIUI 9.5 for testing purpose. Later on, Xiaomi announced that 30 smartphones would get the MIUI 9.5 build via over-the-air (OTA) update in April.  Now, the new Redmi Note 5 gets the software update as promised.

Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 5 running Android 7.0 Nougat-based MIUI 9 back in February in India. The smartphone has now received its latest MIUI update, which is also based on Android Nougat. Interestingly, the Redmi Note 4 received a nightly build of MIUI 9.5, while the Redmi Note 5 has directly received a wider rollout.

The MIUI 9.5.3.0.NEGMIFA update for the Redmi Note 5 comes with several bug fixes and new features. The most important new feature is a quick search option, the option to resume interrupted transfers in the Mi Mover app without starting over, and a revamped start page.

If we talk about new features there are several features that come on Redmi Note 5 after the update. Now, users can resume interrupted transfers in Mi Mover without starting over. Moreover, there is a revamped start page and optimized performance as well.

The most talked about feature is Quick search options, which allows searching easily. The update has also adjusted the position of the search bar and optimized Browser’s kernel. Users can transfer apps with or without app data using Mi Mover. There are sound recording options for screen recorder and a new format for floating notifications in the landscape mode for Full-screen display.

The MIUI 9.5 stable update for Redmi Note 5 will roll out in the next few days for all users via OTA. However, Redmi Note 5 users can check for updates by going into Settings > About phone > System updates. Users can also flash the ROM via recovery method or via Fastboot method after downloading the files via Mi forum.
