Moto E5 Play Android Go Edition with 18:9 Display Launched: Price, Specifications

Motorola has launched a new smartphone Moto E5 Play Android Go Edition in European and American markets. This new Moto E5 Play runs Android 8.1 Oreo Go edition instead of the Android Oreo. It also comes with some other changes from regular Moto E5 Play.

Motorola had launched its G series and E-series smartphones back in April globally. After the Moto G6, Moto E5 series including the Moto E5 and Moto E5 Plus was also launched in India. While the Moto E5 Play was not rolled out here initially. Now, the company has launched Moto E5 Play with Andriod Go Edition and that might come to India.

Moto E5 Play Android Go Edition Specifications

The new Moto E5 Play runs Google’s optimized version of Android for budget phones. It comes with a 5.3-inch display with 18:9 aspect ratio instead of 5.2-inch 16:9 aspect ratio display on the original Moto E5 Play.

Other features and specs are supposed to remain the same. So, in terms of the camera, the new Moto E5 Play will pack an 8MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with flash.  It could pack a 2800mAh battery and water-repellent coating on its body.

It will be powered by a Snapdragon 425/427 SoC. While the original Moto E5 Play comes with 2GB RAM, the Android Go Edition could come with 1GB RAM. The inbuilt storage could be 16GB which will also be expandable via microSD card.

Price, Availability

The Moto E5 Play Android Go Edition has been priced at EUR 109 (roughly Rs. 8,700). Currently, it will be available only in European and Latin American markets starting this month. Motorola has not revealed its India release date yet.
