New Moto G5 Live Images Show Off Fingerprint Sensor, Metallic Build

The leaks of the Moto G5 seem to never end. In fresh new live images of the upcoming smartphone from Motorola, we get to see the new metallic build and design. We have had the official press renders of the Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus leaked earlier. Today’s leak shows off the phone in real life for the first time.

The leak also shows that the phone will also come with a front mounted fingerprint sensor. You can slide across the fingerprint sensor to switch to multitasking and vice versa. This is slightly similar to what we’ve seen on the Lenovo Z2 Plus, launched last year.

Moto G5 Specifications

The Moto G5 will  come with a 5 inch full HD display, protected by Gorilla Glass 3. The phone will run on Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box, with barely any UI changes.

Powering the device will a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SoC, with an octa-core processor and Adreno 505 GPU. The basic version of the phone will come with 2GB RAM and 32GB internal storage with support for microSD cards. While the leaked promo material does not specify higher end versions, we are expecting to see 3GB version, at the very least.

As for the imaging, the phone will come with a 13MP rear camera with Phase Detection Autofocus and dual LED flash. On the front you will get a 5MP camera with a single LED flash.

Other features include front mounted fingerprint sensor, Dual SIM, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2 and GPS. The Moto G5 will be powered by a 2800 mAh battery and will come with a rapid charger in the box.

Launch Date Confirmed

Lenovo had revealed last month that the Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus will be launched at the Mobile World Congress later this month. As more confirmations come in, we are gearing up to cover the launch of these two Motorola phones on February 26, around 9 PM IST.
