Moto X4 Android One Edition starts receiving Android 8.0 Oreo update

Motorola has started rolling out the Android 8.0 Oreo update for its Moto X4 Android One Edition smartphone. The update is currently rolling out to the Moto X4 users having a build number OPW27.1.

The Lenovo-owned company had launched the Moto X4 Android One Edition in the US back in September. However, they did not launch the Android One edition in India, instead, the standard edition Moto X4 came to the Indian market. Sadly, the standard edition Moto X4 isn’t receiving Oreo update as of now.

Motorola, as promised during the launch, is rolling out the Android 8.0 Oreo update to the Android One variant of the phone. The update is over 1GB and brings the latest Android December 2017 security patches. The update is rolling out as an OTA update and may be available for all users in the coming weeks.

Moto X4 Specifications

The Moto X4 standard edition was launched in India back in November features most of the similar specs to Android One edition. The only difference between the two variants is in the software department. While the Moto X4 in the US will now be running Android 8.0 Oreo, in India, the device is still running on Android 7.1.1 Nougat with September 2017 security patches.
