Moto Z Play has been rumoured to be the third device in Lenovo‘s new Moto Z series of smartphones. Last month, during the launch of the Moto Z and the Moto Z Force, it was rumoured that the Moto Z Play would be launched too. However, it wasn’t to be so. It now turns out that the official launch of the Moto Z Play is finally nearing, with a brand new leak confirming the presence of Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor.

One of the highlights of the new Moto Z series was the launch of a new MotoMods platform. This is Lenovo’s take on the upcoming modular smartphones feature, and it seems to be a more practical approach. In that sense, this is an interesting development because the Moto Z Play will be the cheapest phone in the new Moto Z series. If Lenovo can ignite interest in the new MotoMods platform with the Moto Z Play, we are looking at some exciting new accessories to expand the capabilities of our smartphones.

According to the leak that was spotted on AnTuTu benchmark, the Moto Z Play is said to come with a new Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor, built on the 14nm FinFET process. Additionally, Adreno 506 GPU will be assisting it in the graphics department. It will launch with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box.

Coming to the display, the leak shows that the Moto Z Play will come with a 5.5 inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, giving you a pixel density of ~401 PPI. In the camera department, you will get a 16 MP camera on the back and a 5 MP camera on the front for selfies and video calling.

Coming to memory and storage, the Moto Z Play will reportedly come in two variants – 2 GB RAM with 16 GB internal storage, and 3 GB RAM with 32 GB internal storage. You will be able to expand the internal storage with a microSD card up to 200 GB.

Sounds interesting enough? We’ll update you with more information as soon as we have it.
