Motorola’s modular phone, the Moto Z3 Play just got certified through the FCC today, revealing some of the specifications and details about the upcoming smartphone. The Moto Z3 Play has the model number as XT1929 like all other Motorola smartphones with XT model numbers. The Moto Z2 Play was just a minor upgrade to the Moto Z Play, but the Moto Z3 Play is going to be a major update over its predecessor.

The smartphone will come with a power efficient Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor which we saw on the recently released Redmi Note 5 Pro. The smartphone will come in two storage variants with the same RAM. According to the FCC certification, the Moto Z3 Play is going to sport a 6.1 inch display and it might feature an 18:9 aspect ratio without any notch.

Motorola confirmed that the first two generation of the Moto Z series smartphones will support Moto Mods and the display is getting bigger in Moto Z3 Play, this time it might not be there. The smartphone is also said to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor paired with 4GB of RAM. There will be two variants according to internal storage, 32GB, and 64GB and there will be a microSD card slot for storage expansion.

Now coming to the camera specs, the smartphone is expected to feature a 12MP primary sensor at the rear with 8MP selfie camera on the front. The smartphone will be launched in the US initially and then it will reach other countries including India.

The listing on the FCC also shows that the smartphone will be priced at $450 and $500 which is similar to the price of the Moto Z2 Play. The smartphone might go official next month with more unreleased Moto smartphones like the Moto G6 and the Moto E5 lineup.
