Motorola Moto Maxx, Global Droid Turbo Variant Launched

On Wednesday, Motorola unveiled the Moto Maxx smartphone, the international variant of the Verizon’s Droid Turbo as teased. The firm has announced that the Moto Maxx will go on sale in Brazil from the same day and in Mexico by mid-November. It is claimed that the device will be reaching the other Latin American countries soon and the 64 GB variant of the phone will be priced at BRL 2,199 (approx. Rs 54,000).

Much like the Droid Turbo, the Moto Maxx also arrives with a 5.2 inch AMOLED display that boasts of a Quad HD resolution of 2560×1440 pixels translating to a pixel density of 565 pixels per inch. The screen is layered with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection to make it scratch resistant.

In terms of raw hardware, the new offering incorporates a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 SoC clocked at 2.7 GHz supplemented by Adreno 420 graphics engine and 3 GB of RAM. Based on Android 4.4.4 KitKat, the Moto Maxx features a 21 MP primary snapper with auto focus, dual LED flash and support for 4K video recording and a 2 MP front facing selfie camera. The other aspects of the smartphone include 64 GB of native storage support, 4G/LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS for connectivity. There is a mammoth 3,900 mAh battery in the device to keep things juiced up.

The Moto Maxx also features a water resistant nano coating on its exterior and a layer of DuPont Kevlar fibre on the inside to protect it. The handset flaunts a Ballistic Nylon build that is a high quality durable material with rich color and distinctive texture. The Turbo Charge is a new accessory that is claimed to provide 8 hours of battery life in only 15 minutes of charging the Moto Maxx. Also, the Moto Display as in the Moto X 2014 lets users to wake up the phone to show notifications and time when desired.
