Even in the advanced smartphone world, feature phones have not lost their charm. We say this as Microsoft has launched the Nokia 215 feature phone in single and dual SIM variants when the entire tech world is eagerly anticipating the launches made at the CES 2015 tech show.

The Nokia 215 carries the highlight of being the most affordable Internet enabled feature phone and it is priced at $29 (approx. Rs 1,800). It handles web access with 2G and EDGE (dual band) connectivity options.

When it comes to technical specifications, the Nokia 215 houses a 2.4 inch display with a QVGA screen resolution of 240×320 pixels and support additional storage up to 32 GB with the help of a micro SD card. The Internet enabled feature phone is based on Nokia Series 30+ operating system and is equipped with a 1,100 mAh battery that is rated to pump in 20 hours of talk time and 29 days of standby time respectively.

On the software front, the Nokia 215 is preloaded with Opera Mini for web browsing, Facebook, Twitter and Facebook Messenger for social networking and other apps such as MSN Weather and Bing Search. The handset comes with SLAM feature that will share files via Bluetooth 3.0. For imaging, the handset includes a VGA camera at its back without any additional feature such as LED flash. However, there is a built-in torchlight at the top of the Nokia 215.

The Nokia 215 and 215 Dual SIM are launched in a slew of color options such as Bright Green, Black and White. The handsets are slated to hot the retail shelves in select markets in the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Europe in the first quarter of this year.
