Nokia 5.1 Plus India Launch on September 24: Specifications, Expected Price

A couple of days back, Nokia Mobile India tweeted a teaser for a new gaming smartphone in India. However, it now turns out that the HMD led smartphone brand will launch the Nokia 5.1 Plus in India on September 24.

The Nokia 5.1 Plus was already announced in India back in August this year alongside Nokia 6.1 Plus. However, the company did not reveal the price and availability of the mid-range Nokia 5.1 Plus at that time. Now, the company is all set to announce it on September 24. The new Nokia 5.1 Plus will be Flipkart exclusive as its landing page is also live now.

Nokia 5.1 Plus Specifications

If we talk about specs, this new Nokia 5.1 Plus coming to India is the same as the Nokia X5 that was launched in China back in July. However, in India, it comes with Android One program and promises faster software updates. The Nokia 5.1 Plus sports a 5.86-inch HD+ (720 x 1520) IPS LCD display with a notch on top. Under the hood, it has a MediaTek Helio P60 processor with a Mali-G72 MP3 GPU and 3GB RAM.

Nokia X5

In terms of camera, Nokia 5.1 Plus sports dual rear cameras having a 13MP primary sensor with f/2.0 aperture, 1.12um pixel size, PDAF, and a 5MP secondary sensor. It has an 8MP front camera with AI-powered Face Unlock feature. It also supports Bothie feature that lets you capture images using both front and rear cameras simultaneously.

Connectivity options on the phone include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, and a USB Type-C port. The device is powered by a 3060mAh battery.

Nokia 5.1 Plus Expected Price in India

Nokia announced at the time of unveiling it in India that the Nokia 5.1 Plus global average price is EUR 199 (Rs. 16,700 approx.). So, the smartphone could be priced between Rs. 15,000-18,000 in India. The phone will go on sale via Flipkart and Nokia online store. The device will come in Gloss Black, Gloss White, and Midnight Gloss Blue color options.
