Nokia Roadmap Suggests Launch Of 7 Android Phones In 2017

After many unwarranted whispers and rumours, the legendary smartphone manufacturer Nokia is returning to the industry in 2017 after three years of dormancy. Nokia in collaboration with HMD Global, a company founded by ex-executives of Nokia in 2016, will launch series of phones in 2017. HMD Global bought part of Microsoft’s mobile division and acquired rights to build and sell phones on the brand name of Nokia.

Initial reports surfaced on the internet hinted that the company is planning to launch four to five models based on Android in 2017. However, as per recent leaks, Nokia may launch as many six to seven models this year. This leak came out from a presentation about upcoming Nokia phones made by a Malaysian distributor.

If this turns out to be true, the Finnish giant may launch two flagship phones along with mid-tier D1C series and E1. The flagship phones may reportedly come with superior hardware like Snapdragon 8356GB RAM, and 23-megapixel rear camera under the hood. The E1, on the other hand, is going to be powered by a Snapdragon 6xx series chipset and 4GB RAM.

Apart from the core hardware specs, you can expect a slew of legacy features found on previous Nokia phones to return on upcoming phones. For one, the company is reported to be partnering with Carl Zeiss once again to power the optics of its phones. Overall, if everything works out well, it will further intensify the competition in an already crowded market.

We advise you to take all the above rumours with a grain of salt and wait till MWC 2017 to get a better picture of the product lines.
