OnePlus 5T Sandstone White variant leaked a day ahead of launch

OnePlus is expected to launch a new Sandstone variant of its flagship device, the OnePlus 5T in China on January 5. Now, the new variant has been leaked a day ahead of its launch on a popular e-commerce website in China. The listing also reveals the colour of the new variant.

OnePlus has confirmed the new variant of the OnePlus 5T that would feature Sandstone back like the OnePlus One and OnePlus Two smartphones. Now, JD.com has accidentally listed the upcoming Sandstone OnePlus 5T, and it’s the White variant, not the Sandstone Black as rumoured earlier.

The Chinese company had earlier launched the Star Wars Limited Edition variant of the OnePlus 5T in India and few other countries with Sandstone White back. Now, the image posted on JD.com seems similar to the Star Wars Edition without the Star Wars logo at the bottom. Also, this new Sandstone White variant doesn’t have the Red colour alert slider. So, the Sandstone White variant will come with just a white coloured back.

To recall, OnePlus had launched a Colette edition of OnePlus 3T last year in Paris which featured Black colour back. Later on, they launched the same Colette edition in other countries as OnePlus 3T Midnight Black edition. So, we can expect the same in this case too and the company may also launch the Sandstone OnePlus 5T in countries where it did not launch the Star Wars Edition.

Further, the specifications for the upcoming new variant of OnePlus 5T have also been listed on the retailer’s website. Just like the Star Wars Edition, it will also be launched in a single 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant. The website, however, did not reveal the pricing of the smartphone.

OnePlus will reveal the pricing and availability of the new Sandstone variant at the launch event in China tomorrow. The phone may be priced a bit higher than the standard OnePlus 5T which is currently retailing for Rs. 37,999 in India.
