OPPO introduced a new phone in its A-series, called OPPO A59. The smartphone has been launched in China and will go on sale from June 18, though the global launch is still awaited. It is priced at 1,799 Yuan ( INR 18,500 approximately). It is available in Gold and Rose Gold color options.
OPPO A59 Specs
It comes with a 5.5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) display with a pixel density of ~267 PPI. Under the hood it runs a Mediatek MT6570 1.5 GHz octa-core CPU, Mali-T860 GPU coupled with 3 GB of RAM. It has got a 32 GB of internal memory which is further expandable upto 128GB using a microSD card. It sports a 13 MP camera with PDAF (Phase Detection Autofocus) with an f/2.2 aperture on the rear and a 8 MP cam on the front. The phone is backed by a 3,075mAh battery.
The OPPO A59 comes with a full metal uni-body design. It also comes with a front mounted fingerprint scanner which can unlock the device in 0.22 seconds. It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop with ColorOS 3.0 on top. It’s quite a thin device with a thickness of 7.3 mm and weighs around 160 grams.
On the connectivity front, it has got Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, Dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, FM Radio, OTG support and a 3.5mm headphone jack. This is a 4G LTE enabled device which supports VoLTE as well. There is also a stereo speaker at the bottom. It will be available in China from 18th of June via OPPO’s official online store.

The OPPO A59 is priced at 1,799 Yuan (~Rs. 18,500), and will go on sale on June 18 in China. The company will be selling the phone in two colours – Gold and Rose Gold. Availability details for other markets are awaited.
