Panasonic Lumix G7, Lumix G85 with 4K Video Recording launched in India: Price, Specifications

Panasonic India has launched the new Lumix G7 and Lumix G85 Digital Single Lens Mirrorless (DSLM) cameras in India. These lightweight cameras come equipped with 4K video recording & editing capabilities and have features such as Post Focus and Dual-Image Stabilisation. The new cameras are available for purchase through all Panasonic stores in India.

The new Panasonic cameras are designed to shoot quality videos for YouTube and filming etc. The Lumix G7 is capable of recording smooth, high-resolution QFHD 4K video in 3840×2160 at 25p (50Hz) or 24p in MP4 while the Lumix G85 is capable to record high-resolution 4K video in 3840×2160 at 30p/25p (50Hz/60Hz Area) or 24p in MP4.

Panasonic Lumix G7 specifications

The Lumix G7 sports a 16-megapixel Digital Live MOS Sensor that achieves both higher resolution and higher sensitivity image recording with minimum noise. The 4K video recording feature can capture the fleeting photo opportunities at 30 fps in 8-megapixel equivalent resolution.

It packs image processor Venus Engine with quad-core CPU that lets high-speed signal processing resulting in 8 fps(AFS) or 6 fps(AFC) to capture fast moving subjects. DMC-G7 enables shooting at maximum ISO 25600. It has a 3-inch free-angle rear monitor with a static-type touch control with 1040K-dot high-resolution features and approx. 100% field of view.


To further enhance the controllability, the Lumix G7 comes with a drive mode dial in addition to the front/rear dials which enables activating 4K photo mode quickly. The camera also comes with other connectivity like Wi-Fi, 3.5mm jack, Focus Peaking, Creative Control with 22 Filters.

Panasonic Lumix G85 specifications

Panasonic Lumix G85 sports a new rugged-design with a front structure composed of a magnesium alloy full diecast. It is also splash/dustproof and is sealed from every joint, dial and button. It integrates an OLED LVF with 2360K-dot high resolution in approx. 1.48x / 0.74x (35mm camera equivalent) magnification capability. It features free-angle 3.0-inch large, 1040K-dot touch-control monitor with 100% field of view.

The G85 sports a 16.0-megapixel Digital Live MOS Sensor without Low Pass filter and the new Venus Engine to achieve crisp, and high-resolution images with detailing and high contrast. It can also offer max. ISO 25600 high sensitivity as well. The LUMIX G85 is also capable of a real-time image output to the external monitor via HDMI simultaneously while recording video. The LUMIX G85 incorporates the new 5-axis Dual Image Stabilizer also.

Price and Availability

The Lumix G85 is available at a price of Rs. 72,990 and the Lumix G7 will be available at Rs. 53,990. The Lumix G7 also comes with a dual kit option of 1442 mm + 45150 mm which is priced at Rs. 58,990. The camera models will be available at all Panasonic stores across the country.
