Samsung has finally brought Android 4.4 Kitkat to entry level Android phones with its new device, Samsung Galaxy Ace Style. Android 4.4 KitKat has been designed to work with modest low end hardware in order to curb the problem of Android Fragmentation, and Galaxy Ace Star could be a start.
Galaxy Ace Style features 4 inch display with 480 x 800 pixel resolution which amounts to usable 233 pixels per inches. Under the hood, there lies a 1.2 GHz Dual core processor, which is backed by 512 MB RAM and 4 GB internal storage, the storage can be further expanded by 64 GB using MicroSD support.
The chipset won’t be a deal breaker if Samsung manages to price it right. Imaging hardware includes a 5 MP primary shooter and VGA front camera which can be used for modest video calling.
Battery powering the internals is rated at 1500 mAh. NFC will be optional and will perhaps defer from market to market. Other features include 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS.
It’s high time OEM’s start providing Android 4.4 KitKat even at budget price range, this will reduce Android fragmentation and developers won’t have to optimize their apps for different versions. Samsung Galaxy Ace Style is a start and we expect other to follow. Another smartphone which brings KitKat to budget Androids is LG L40, which will soon be available for around 7K INR. Samsung Galaxy Ace Style will be available in cream white and dark grey color. Availability and Price are yet unknown.
