Samsung Galaxy C7 (2017) To Launch With Exynos 7872 Chipset

Samsung Galaxy C7 (2017) may be the first smartphone to feature the upcoming Exynos 7872 SoC. A Twitter-based tipster has just alleged the South Korean company of working on a C-series handset apart from the Galaxy C10 and C10 Plus. It is just over a month since Samsung launched the Galaxy C7 Pro here, in India. The next generation Galaxy C7 is expected to be announced alongside the Note 8.

Samsung Galaxy C7 (2017) Specifications

As of now, there is not much we know about the 2017 iteration of the Galaxy C7. We expect that Samsung will retain the 5.7-inch Full HD (1080 x 1920) Super AMOLED display of the present generation C7 and C7 Pro. It is the Exynos 7872 which is going to steal the show. Let’s talk a bit about the details of the upcoming chipset.

Samsung Exynos 7872 Specs

Based on rumors, the Exynos 7872 might feature a hexacore CPU with two ARM Cortex-A72 processors combined with four Cortex-A53 ones. This seems very much like the Snapdragon 650 SoC. However, Samsung’s chip will probably be manufactured using the newer 14 nm FinFET process, whereas Qualcomm’s silicon is built on the older 28 nm technique.

Speaking of the GPU, the Exynos 7872 is going to sport the high-end Mali-G71. Connectivity-wise, the upcoming chipset will pack a decent Cat.7 (300 / 100 Mbps) LTE modem with support for VoLTE and ViLTE.

Now, coming back to the Galaxy C7 (2017), the phone is presumed to pack 4 GB of RAM and up to 64 GB of internal storage. The handset will possibly run on Android Nougat. Unfortunately, we don’t yet have info about the camera hardware of the upcoming device. Speaking of connectivity, the C7 (2017) will feature 4G LTE, VoLTE, and other usual ones.

While there is no confirmed data regarding the pricing of the Galaxy C7 (2017), we suspect that it will cost around Rs. 25,000 in India.
