Update: Samsung Netherlands has listed the Galaxy Core 2 and Galaxy Young 2 at EUR 179 (approx. Rs 14,500) and at EUR 99 (approx. Rs 8,000) respectively. But the details regarding the availability of the handsets remain unknown.
Samsung has strengthened its Galaxy lineup of smartphones with the launch of new devices. These phones are low-end and mid-range devices to cater to the needs of those consumers who do not prefer to spend huge money for smartphones. Samsung is known for rolling out many options as an attempt to capture a larger part of the market share and to offer something for every consumer.
While we have already mentioned the launch of Galaxy Ace 4, the other three models include Galaxy Core 2, Galaxy Star 2 and Galaxy Young 2. All these dual SIM smartphones run on Android 4.4 KitKat operating system that is the latest iteration of the Google’s mobile OS.
Detailing on the specifications, the Galaxy Core 2 is fitted with a 4.5 display with 480p resolution and is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor paired with 768 MB of RAM under its hood. There is a 5 MP primary camera with LED flash, VGA front-facer and 4 GB of native storage space that can be expanded and a 2,000 mAh battery.
The Galaxy Young 2 flaunts a smaller 3.5 inch 320p display and is stuffed with a single-core 1 GHz processor with 512 MB of RAM. The handset includes 4 GB of internal storage space that can be expanded up to 32 GB and a 3 MP primary camera without a front-facer.
Lastly, the Galaxy Star 2 resembles the Galaxy Young 2 in the display, processor, storage and battery segments. The difference is that the handset boasts of a 2 MP primary snapper and lacks 3G connectivity feature.
It has to be noted that the rumored Moto E competitors from Samsung’s stable is yet to be announced officially and these smartphones cannot compete with the hot selling Motorola smartphone.
