Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 Expected to Launch Soon in India for 21,499 INR

Update: Samsung has officially launched the Galaxy Mega 2 in India for a pricing of Rs 20,900 and the device is listed on the official e-store as well.

After being announced for select Asian markets such as Malaysia and Thailand, the Galaxy Mega 2 appears to go on sale soon in India. Entrusted retailer, Mahesh Telecom has taken on Facebook claiming that the device will be launched in India later this week for a pricing of Rs 21,499 with a MRP of Rs 24,300.

To recap on the specifications of the Galaxy Mega 2, the phablet boasts of a spacious 6 inch HD display with a resolution of 1280×720 pixels. The device uses a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor, presumably Snapdragon 410 SoC from the stable of Qualcomm paired with 1.5 GB of RAM.

Fueled by Android 4.4 KitKat operating system, the Galaxy Mega 2 flaunts an 8 MP primary camera teamed up with LED flash and a 2.1 MP selfie camera at the front for video conferencing. Storage wise, the phablet packs 16 GB of native storage capacity that can be expanded externally by another 64 GB using a micro SD card.

The connectivity features onboard the Samsung phablet are 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS with GLONASS, NFC and dual SIM functionality. Also, there is a 2,800 mAh battery that should be providing a decent backup as the device is equipped with the Ultra Power Saving Mode as well.

It has to be noted that Samsung has not revealed any official word regarding the pricing and availability of the Galaxy Mega 2 in India and we need to wait for the launch of the device.
