Prior to the launch of Nokia’s 41 MP camera phone, Samsung has launched Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom in India at 29,900 INR. The looks of this phone suggest more of a Camera with Smartphone features, rather than other way around. The hardware specifications are quite similar to Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini.

This phone comes with a 4.3 inch Super AMOLED capacitive touch display with a resolution of 540 x 960 pixels which gives you a pixel density of 256 ppi (Samsung Galaxy s4 has 441 ppi). This is similar display to that present in Samsung Galaxy Mini and will give you quite vibrant colors and darker blacks, but you might see some text fringing when there is high contrast in background owing to the pentile display.

The most spectacular feature of this phone is its 16 MP Camera which comes with 10 x zoom, capable of 1080p video recording, Optical image stabilization, ISO 100 to 3200 and a xenon flash. It s sensor size is 1 /2.33 inch and it comes with features like HDR, Geo tagging, face and smile detection and touch focus. You will also get a secondary camera of 1.9 MP for video calling. 15.4 mm thickness of this device is excluding the camera zoom. It also weighs 208 grams which makes it significantly heavy.

This phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 Dual core processor clocked at a speed of 1.7 GHz and comes with Aadreno305 GPU to cater to your Graphic intensive needs. This chipset is backed by a 1.5 GB RAM along with an internal storage memory of 8 GB, of which 5 GB will be available to users. Internal storage is expendable up to 64 GB using a microSD card. The phone employs latest Android 4.2.2 jelly bean operating system and comes with Samsungs Touchwiz UI.

The battery capacity of 2330 mAh is more than that of Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini (1900 mAh) and other Connectivity features include GPRS, EDGE, HSDA (42 Mbps), Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, NFC, Infrared port and microUSB 2.0

Obviously the highlighted feature of this device is its Camera; it will appeal to customers fond of photography and won’t mind carrying a slightly bulky phone with portable camera through the day. Samsung Galaxy Zoom is priced at Rs. 29,900
