Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Will have Curved Display on Both Edges [Leaked]

Samsung has confirmed that it will be hosting an event on March 1 at the MWC 2015 tech show in Barcelona. Though there is no official word on what we will witness at the event, the invite showing a curved device and going by the previous leaks, we believe that the flagship Galaxy S6 will be accompanied with a curved display variant allegedly called Galaxy S6 Edge.

While there were rumors that this new curved variant will arrive with dual curved edges, a report by CNET Korea has got hold of some images of both the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge with and without cases. Earlier speculations pointed out that the Galaxy S6 will be will be measuring a mere 6.91 mm thin.

The latest leak reveals the Galaxy S6 Edge’s curved edge screen that bends on both the sides, thereby adhering to the earlier rumors. The rear snapper on both the devices appears to be accompanied with LED flash and heart rate sensor as well. Also, the leaked images show that the smartphones will feature metallic build similar to the Galaxy A lineup of devices with the only difference in the build being the curved edges and sides in comparison to the sharp ones on the Galaxy A smartphones.

Going by the previous rumors, the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge are likely to arrive with 5.5 inch Quad HD displays with 1440p resolution and come in two variants using the Snapdragon 810 or Exynos 7420 chipsets. The other aspects that are said to be included in the upcoming models include a 20 MP main camera and Touch based fingerprint scanner embedded on the home button.

Lately, the alleged Galaxy S6 chassis got leaked showing unibody design as in the iPhone 6 and this hints that the device might deviate from the usual Galaxy S lineup devices by using a removable battery. Anyways, we will have to wait until the next month to know what Samsung will unveil.
